Good Beginnings Foundation
What is it?
The Good Beginnings Foundation is a legal trust established in 2000 “for the purpose of providing relief to families with children who are disadvantaged, suffering, experiencing misfortune, helplessness or distress, and …those who suffer from any disability”. As such, Good Beginnings Foundation supports programs which enhance opportunities for children in their early years to provide the best opportunities for a good start in life.
Good Beginnings Australia operates such programs, and the Good Beginnings Foundation with its fundraising capacity is working to assist in making those excellent programs available to families and children in need across the length and breadth of the country.
Good Beginnings Foundation is a Deductible Gift Recipient for Australian Tax purposes, and all donations of two dollars and over are tax deductible for Australian residents.
There are four Trustees who manage the Foundation and they work closely with Good Beginnings Australia's National Office on fundraising initiatives. Unexpended trust funds are held under an Investment Policy developed by the Trustees with assistance from Macquarie Bank Limited.
Why Support Good Beginnings Foundation?
A big attraction for donating funds to Good Beginnings Foundation is that it can help ensure the sustainability of Good Beginnings Australia programs right across the country. It is only through Good Beginnings Foundation that we can provide certainty of effective administration at the national level. This is because the vast majority of funds acquired by Good Beginnings Australia - whether from governments or philanthropy - are directly targeting specific programs which change children's lives rather than overall management of those programs.
When fundraising targets are achieved Good Beginnings Foundation will be in a position to support Good Beginnings Australia via interest earned on the capital fund. $1m per year for the next ten years is our target and your donation will be a marvellous contribution. Trustees will continue fundraising efforts and we need your support to ensure that families with young children have the assistance and encouragement when they need it.
If we can help families to give children the best possible start in life we can prevent many of the social problems so prevalent in our society. The costs to the community are fare too high.
