Bent on Food, Isabella Street, Wingham NSW

There are some ‘Every Kid’s Heroes’ in Taree who have helped to make our Good Beginnings Taree program a success and we salute the ‘Bent on Food Café’ in Wingham.

Proprietor Donna Carrier has generously provided her multiple award winning café as a venue for a series of Good Beginnings fundraising events. Donna has worked closely with our local support group in organising and delivering superb dinners and cocktail events, as only she can. So good are these events that guests invariably request invitations to the next one.

It is fair to say that Bent on Food, (if you’ll pardon the pun), has ‘bent over backwards’ to support the Good Beginnings program and its important work in the Taree community.

The benefits to Good Beginnings are enormous – in addition to the funds raised we also increase our awareness of the needs in our community – the countless children and their families and the difference our program is making to help these people feel a sense of safety, improved happiness and community care. Importantly, every event Donna’s team has organised has helped to increase the network of supporters for the Good Beginnings Play and Learn program in Taree.

Donna even goes to the trouble to include news of Good Beginnings events in her regular column in the region’s acclaimed ‘Focus’ magazine.

Donna Carrier is a true ‘Every Kids Hero’ for the work she does in supporting Good Beginnings and the Taree community and we are proud to acclaim Donna and her team for the wonderful work they do. Her ‘Bent on Food’ series of events will continue in 2010 and we urge everyone to support these events and enjoy the excellent food and service at the ‘Bent on Food’ café.
